Naming Ceremonies
Naming ceremonies are a perfect way to welcome a new baby or child into your family/community, whatever their ages. It can take place whenever or wherever you like.
It can be a way of celebrating a blended family.
We can create a personalised ceremony that focuses on your child and everyone that surrounds them, and you can name your child in front of those you have invited to be part of this special day.
As your celebrant, I will write your ceremony, telling the story of your child and their special role in your family. You can share your hopes and dreams for your child, and may choose to include the significance of their name and why you chose it.
Whatever you choose, it is important to remember that this is your time and space to craft a ceremony that is personal and bursting with meaning and symbolic moments.

Before the big day, we will meet together to discuss what you would like included in your ceremony, any readings, any elements, the promises to be made and the choices of music, further adding a personal meaning to the ceremony. The music you select could be sung by your family and friends as part of the naming ceremony, or it could be playing in the background.
Together we will create a completely personal ceremony which I will deliver on the day and will present you with a Naming Day Keepsake Certificate and a printed copy of your ceremony. Many parents now wish to have Guide Parents, Odd Parents or Supportive Adults instead of the traditional God Parents. These can be a friend or family member and we can create promises you would like for them.

The arrival of a new family member is such a beautiful gift & it would be my delight to help make your family’s special day even more special. My experience of working with children enables me to know what it takes to create a ceremony that’s inclusive for all, whatever their age/ages.
When they say ‘never work with children…’, I would embrace the joy (and occasional moments of chaos!) that little ones bring to a party. It is so rewarding to work with families to find ways for siblings, friends & cousins to engage with welcoming your latest addition.
